Team Experience

Our business model employs the flexible blend of local and expatriate consultants so we can quickly adapt to local environments and the specific needs of clients and/or partners. We have experience providing pure consultancy/advisory services for individual projects or total E&P solutions such as constructing more detailed entire life cycle designs to optimize economic development of fields or field groupings encompassing exploration and recovery under primary, secondary and enhance oil recovery phases. Our consultants bring over 500 years of experience from their previous work with national oil companies, IOCs and Independents . Our careers have encompassed all phases of the upstream E&P life cycle from exploration, drilling, facility engineering integrated static and dynamic simulation modelling, field development planning (FDP), reservoir management, waterflood and EOR implementation, operations, and rejuvenation of mature oil fields....

Our consultants have worked in most major oil and gas producing provinces, ranging from small fields with a few wells to Middle East’s super giant fields with more than 1,000 wells before and after joining the group. The collective experience of these experts has helped various operators recovered tens of billions of barrels of oil. Over the last 40 years Ofserv-3DOs consultants have applied their expertise to projects having a combined HCIIP exceeding several hundred Bboe across the globe. The past and current experience for our consultants covers a wide range of operating environments from onshore to deep water offshore, high temperature and pressure, desert and tropical environments. Key team members have had significant roles in several of the world’s largest oil and gas development projects including the application of chemical EOR for onshore Sumatra, the Arctic (Prudhoe Bay) and offshore Middle East (Upper Zakum, Qatar’s North Field and Al Shaheen) as well as marginal field and deep-water developments in Nigeria. Our lead consultants each bring multi-decades of experience and are industry recognized Subject Matter Experts (SME) for their works with super majors. The work provided by our experts is of a high standard considering the global recognition of various team members for their technical expertise and work experience.

Featured clients & projects

3DOs has made significant contributions to numerous companies around the world:

Maersk Oil: 3DOs provided advanced technical and management consultancy to Maersk Oil. The work focused on refining the corporate EOR strategy/road map especially for the Al Shaheen field which is the world’s fifth largest offshore oil field. The consultancy work was a continuation of a comprehensive program started in 2006 by one of our team members while in the employment of Maersk Oil to build the company EOR capability and pursue early implementation of a world class EOR program resulting in one of the largest offshore water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection projects in operation today....

Sierra Oil and Gas: 3DOs provided integrated reservoir modeling and classical reservoir engineering analysis consultancy services to quantify Sierra’s Round 1- Call 1 bid in Mexico. Sierra was the only successful bidder of Round 1- Call 1, winning all the rights to develop two shallow water blocks in the Noreste region.

Other Clients: We have provided short term consultancy services and technical studies to certain following clients:

  • Ping Energy XXI: Field performance review leading to EOR screening of Malaysia’s Selligi field.
  • Premier Energy Service, Inc: 3DOs performed integrated field review leading to well completion requirements, waterflood screening and steam injection screening study for the Canal Bank Oil Field in Belize.
  • PetroVietnam: 3DOs assisted in reviewing and commented on various EOR studies.
  • Anonymous: Serve as an expert adviser to one of the top consultancy firm on a Central Asian mature field rejuvenation.

Leveraging our Team Members Past and Present Experiences to Assist Companies

Half of the world’s oil fields have an expected ultimate recovery of less than 30%. Only 10% of the world’s oil fields are expected to have ultimate recovery factors exceeding 40%. Our collective experience having worked in most oil and gas producing regions of the world shows a similar picture. 3DOs believes there are many compelling business opportunities in mature field rejuvenation to upgrade field performances and in early life cycle planning of newly discovered oil fields. Some of 3DOS experts have worked on fields with the highest ultimate recovery factors such as Draugen and Prudhoe Bay where ultimate recovery factors are expected to exceed 70% and 60%, respectively. The experiences gained from these previous assignments is invaluable in maximizing economic ultimate oil and gas recovery of future projects. ...

Many if not most operators are reluctant to invest under the current low oil price environment. However, the historical oil price in the following Figure shows that the current low oil price environment is not unique. Most of our senior team members started their career in the 1980’s and since then there were also significant oil price reductions during 1986, from 1997 to 1999 and during 2008. Until now, we had gone through several oil price cycles. Oil prices during the mid-1980’s and the 1990’s were even lower than today’s oil price and that is when many of our team members were successfully delivering economic oil and gas projects for various companies around the world and we are still delivering successful projects in today’s oil price.
